Deep in the Systar System, Lucy and the gang were preparing for their pampering session. Sweet Mayhem led the prisoners toward a uniquely shaped crystal planet that looked very much like a giant disco ball. As she piloted her craft, Mayhem glanced over at Lucy, who was clipped into handcuffs in the passenger’s seat.

“What are you hiding?” Mayhem asked.

“What am I hiding?” Lucy replied. “What are you hiding? You’re the one with a face-covering reflective mask!”

Mayhem sighed. “I asked you first,” she said.

“Well, I asked you second,” replied Lucy.

“Real mature,” Mayhem said.

Lucy looked down. She saw one of Sweet Mayhem’s heart weapons between them and got an idea.

“Hey, what’s that?” Lucy asked, looking up and gesturing at a planet outside the window.

“The Planet of Infinite Reflection,” Sweet Mayhem answered. “Where soon you will change your tune.”

While Sweet Mayhem carefully steered the ship toward its final destination, Lucy quickly snagged one of the missiles from the heart-cannon cartridge. She slipped it into her jacket pocket without Sweet Mayhem noticing.

“Hello!” the little heart cried out from inside Lucy’s pocket.

“What was that?” Sweet Mayhem snapped, glancing over.

“I said”—Lucy made her voice sound like the little missile—“Hello!”

“Okay,” Sweet Mayhem said strangely. “Well, we’ve been talking for a while, not sure why you’re saying hello now, but fine. Hello to you.” Then she shook her helmeted head, focusing on her landing. As soon as they were on the ground, she led a shackled Lucy, Angry Kitty, Metalbeard, Batman, and Benny toward a health spa and mindfulness center.

Inside the center, zen music played quietly. The group passed a gaggle of BrickHeadz, animals, and mini-dolls all getting manicures and pedicures, massages, facials, and other luxurious spa treatments.

After they’d made their way to the front desk, they were greeted by a vampire named Balthazar. He and the other vampires who worked at the spa were all wearing peaceful-looking fluffy robes and had a very quiet aura about them. “Welcome to the Shambhala Health Spa,” Balthazar said softly. “Namaste.”

Angry Kitty grinned. “Ooh. Sounds spiritual.”

“Sounds like a trap,” Lucy snapped. “This guy’s a vampire—”

Balthazar broke in to say, “Attractive, nonthreatening teen vampire.”

Lucy rolled her eyes. “We have to focus, stay alert, and not let them … ” she trailed off, realizing she was the only one still standing beside the front desk. Every one of her friends had already begun their first treatment.

Metalbeard was soaking in a tub, getting a scrub down. “Ahh, yeah,” he said happily. “I love getting the barnacles scrubbed off me bilge pump.”

Nearby, Unikitty (no longer in Angry Kitty form) was meditating, and Benny was getting sparkly clean. “You should try it, Lucy!” Unikitty said.

Batman was getting a relaxing massage from some animals that were jumping around on his muscled back. “Ahh, yeah,” he moaned. “I carry my tension in my delts. Oh, that’s good.”

“You guys,” Lucy said, her voice tight. “Don’t fall for—”

Balthazar pressed his cold, white hand over Lucy’s mouth. “Shhh,” he said soothingly. “Let’s be present.”

“She needs extra treatment,” Sweet Mayhem told the spa staff.
